Description

Announced Mobility Data Act (Mobilitätsdatengesetz)

On 25 July 2023, the German Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport published key points for the new Mobility Data Act (Mobilitätsdatengesetz), bundling current EU and national regulations together. The Act would apply to transport companies and mobility services providers. Aiming to ensure free accessibility of traffic data, the companies' data, in particular data for the calculation of route alternatives and navigation, would have to be provided free of charge. The data would be accessible to users at the national access point (NAP).
