Launched Global Declaration on Information Integrity Online

On 20 September 2023, Canada and the Netherlands announced the launch of the “Global Declaration on Information Integrity Online”. This initiative aims to address the erosion of information integrity and combat disinformation in the digital age, serving as a framework and guide for governments to uphold information integrity online, including government engagement with private industries. Notably, the initiative seeks to enhance responses to the opportunities and challenges posed by generative artificial intelligence (AI). The initiative was endorsed by 28 countries, including Brazil, Germany, Japan, Korea, the United Kingdom and the United States
