Signed EU-China action plan on the safety of products sold online

On 18 September 2023, the Directorate General for Justice and Consumers of the European Commission (DG Just) and the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (GACC) signed an action plan concerning the safety of non-food consumer products sold online. Under this agreement, DG Just and GACC reaffirmed their intent to exchange information regarding unsafe non-food consumer products available online through the EU-China Safety Gate system. Additionally, both parties committed to hosting regular workshops for the exchange of information and knowledge regarding laws, regulations, and practices in the field of online product safety. They also pledged to organise specific awareness-raising and training activities for companies engaged in online sales to inform them about the safety regulations they must adhere to for consumer products and the listings that have to be removed upon notification. .
