China: Opened consultation on Provisions on the Production and Management of Civilian Unmanned Aircraft

On 6 September 2023, the China Ministry of Industry and Information Technology published a draft of the provisions on the production and management of civilian unmanned aircraft and opened a consultation until 7 October 2023. The provisions would apply to all manufacturing, selling, or using civilian unmanned aircraft in China. Among others, producers must take measures against network and data security defects. Also, the users must be notified. Further, the aircraft's data traceability must be ensured, and an emergency data disposal must be in place in case of an incident.
