On 14 August 2023, the Bill banning the development and commercialization of software and apps designed for generating fake explicit or obscene content (PL 3902/2023) was introduced in the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies. The Bill aims to amend the Civil Rights Framework for the Internet (Law No. 12.965) to prohibit the use, creation, distribution, and marketing of applications and programs designed for generating false pornographic or obscene images and videos, commonly referred to as deep nudes.
