On 30 November 2023, the New Zealand Office of the Privacy Commissioner (OPC) closed a public consultation on its Children and Young People's Privacy project. The project aims to determine whether New Zealand's current laws and regulations protecting children's privacy are well functioning. The OPC invited stakeholders, including professionals working with children, such as teachers, doctors, nurses, and NGOs, to submit information and their views on privacy rules and regulations and issues that have to be addressed to ensure adequate protection of children's privacy.
