Australia: Adopted Global Online Safety Regulators Network position statement on Human Rights and Online Safety Regulation

On 12 September 2023, in the context of the first meeting, the Global Online Safety Regulators Network adopted its position statement on human rights and online safety regulation. The Network noted the regulation's impacts on the users' human rights and the negative consequences of an unregulated environment. With the statement, the Network committed to developing regulatory measures for the digital environment and upholding human rights principles such as universality, equality, and transparent governance.
