Adopted G20 New Delhi Leaders’ Declaration including Technological Transformation and Digital Public Infrastructure

On 9 September 2023, the India Ministry of External Affairs published the adopted G20 New Delhi Leaders' Declaration, which, among other things, addresses Technological Transformation and Digital Public Infrastructure. The G20 parties emphasised their commitment to leveraging technology for inclusive and sustainable development. In the declaration, they emphasised the importance of digital public infrastructure (DPI) and called for secure, interoperable systems that respect privacy rights and established legal frameworks. In addition, they address issues such as digital safety, crypto-assets regulation, central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), fostering digital ecosystems, and responsible artificial intelligence (AI) development. The goal is to harness technology for the public good while ensuring security, transparency, fairness, and respect for human rights.
