Adopted Roskomnadzor order outlining criteria for including sites containing prohibited information in the register of prohibited sites

On 27 February 2023, the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media (Roskomnadzor) adopted the order outlining criteria for including sites containing prohibited information in the register of prohibited sites entered into force. In particular, websites that display materials and information containing pornographic images of minors, information on the development, manufacture, and use of narcotic drugs, information on methods of committing suicide, information on manufacturing explosives and explosive devices, information about minors who have suffered as a result of unlawful actions, or information promoting "non-traditional sexual relations," paedophilia, or gender reassignment will be included in the register and subject to access restrictions or blocking. The regulation will come into force on 1 September 2023 and will be valid until 1 September 2029.
