China: Adopted Practice Guide to Cybersecurity Standards on Generative artificial intelligence service content identification method

On 25 August 2023, the Chinese National Information Security Standardization Technical Committee (TC260) adopted its Practice Guide to Cybersecurity Standards of Generative artificial intelligence service content identification method. It outlines guidelines for content identification in generative artificial intelligence services to comply with regulations and policies, including the "Network Security Law" and "Generative Artificial Intelligence Service Management Interim Measures." The practice guide provides methods for marking generated content in the categories of text, image, audio, and video, including explicit and implicit watermark identification. The purpose is to guide generative AI providers in enhancing content identification and assisting regulatory oversight.
