Published paper on competition in the digital economy

On 24 February 2021, the South African Competition Commission released a paper on the digital economy. In the paper, the commission advocates for "inclusive economic growth" through more effective enforcement of the Competition Act. Specifically, the Commission wants SMEs and firms owned by historically disadvantaged persons (HDPs) to be fully included in the digital economy. Finally, the Commission notes the specific challenges surrounding the different areas of competition law.
