United States of America: Issued CPUC permits for Cruise and Waymo to charge fares for passenger service using driverless vehicles

On 10 August 2023, the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) announced the approval of permits for Cruise and Waymo to conduct commercial passenger service using driverless vehicles in San Francisco. The approval encompasses the ability for both companies to charge fares for rides around the clock.
