Austria: Issued decision in RTR investigation into Mass Response over access restriction to streaming link portal "newalbumreleases"

On 7 August 2023, the Austrian Regulatory Authority for Broadcasting and Telecommunications (RTR) issued a decision regarding its investigation into Mass Response Service GmbH access restrictions to the "newalbumreleases" streaming link portal. In particular, the RTR decided to discontinue the procedure after its investigation determined that the company's blocking of specific domains related to "newalbumreleases" due to copyright claims was proportional and did not breach Article 3(3) of the Regulation (EU) 2015/2120. Furthermore, no user complaints were presented regarding the restrictions.
