Issued Registration Deadline Warnings to Major Foreign Private ESOs
On 24 June 2022, the Indonesian Ministry of Informatics and Communication issued warnings to several major foreign private electronic systems operators (ESOs) reminding them to register with the Ministry as per the requirements of Regulation 71/2019. The Ministry stated that platforms like Google, Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp, Netflix, and Facebook must register by the deadline on 20 July 2022 to avoid blocking.
