Opened consultation on Draft Decree 72 on the management, provision and use of internet services and online information including data protection regulation

On 17 July 2023, the Vietnamese Government opened a consultation until 15 September 2023 on Draft Decree 72 on the management, provision and use of internet services and online information, which would entirely replace current Decree 72. The Decree applies to domestic organisations as well as foreign organisations and individuals directly involved in or related to the management, provision and use of internet services, online information, online gaming and ensuring the security of network information and information security. The draft Decree requires service providers to implement measures to protect the personal information of users including by ensuring the right of users to consent to the collection, use, processing or transfer of their personal information.
