New Zealand: Opened consultation on Safer Online Services and Media Platforms Review

On 1 June 2023, the Department of Internal Affairs of New Zealand opened a consultation for the Safer Online Services and Media Platforms review until 31 July 2023. The consultation covers proposals to regulate online services and media platforms in New Zealand aiming to develop and implement a new content regulation approach to reduce exposure to online harmful content while protecting the rights to freedom of expression and preserving the freedom of the press.
