Indonesia: Announced Investigation into Aisha Weddings regarding alleged misuse of child and adolescent data

On 11 February 2021, Indonesia's Ministry of Communication and Informatics announced that it was cooperating with the Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection to investigate concerns around the misuse of personal data of children and adolescents by the weddings services website Aisha Weddings. Specifically, there were concerns that misuse of such data could be linked to other illegal acts, such as economic sexual exploitation of children and child trafficking.
