European Commission published draft decision on the adequate protection of personal data by the United Kingdom

On 19 February 2021, the European Commission (EC) published its draft decision on the adequacy of the UK data protection regime with the EU GDPR, which approves personal data transfers. The EC noted that the EU will monitor the progress and rescind the decision should the UK diverge from the GDPR to a problematic degree.
