On 5 March 1999, Law 5/1999 Concerning the Prohibition of Monopolistic Practices and Unfair Business Competition entered into force with a grace period of one year. It enters into force fully on 5 March 2000. The Law establishes a general regulatory framework for competition law in Indonesia, setting out definitions, prohibited activities and agreements, and enforcement rules.
