Announced FTC lawsuit against Surescripts LLC for illegally monopolising e-prescription markets

On 24 April 2019, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) filed a complaint against Surescripts LLC, a technology company that supports e-prescriptions. The company is charged with monopolising the market for routing e-prescriptions and the market for determining eligibility. The FTC alleges that the company intentionally set out to keep e-prescription routing and eligibility customers on both sides of each market from using additional platforms using anticompetitive exclusivity agreements, threats, and other exclusionary tactics.
