Introduced Artificial Intelligence Accountability Act (HR 3369)

On 16 May 2023, the Artificial Intelligence Accountability Act (HR 3369)was introduced to the US House of Representatives. The Act instructs the Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Communications and Information to conduct a comprehensive study on accountability measures for artificial intelligence (AI) systems. The study will examine the integration of accountability measures into AI systems used by communications networks, evaluate how accountability measures can mitigate risks associated with AI systems, assess the effectiveness of commonly employed accountability measures for AI systems, and identify barriers and challenges in establishing appropriate accountability measures for AI systems.
