Description

Opened consultation on Amendments to Enforcement Rules of the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce

On 19 July 2023, the South Korean Fair Trade Commission (FTC) opened a consultation on Amendments to Enforcement Rules of the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce until 28 August 2023. The amendments aim to facilitate the process of reissuing a mail-order business report online. Business operators can report by electronic document when reissuing a mail-order business report. Further, the amendments aim to prevent the imposition of additional shipping fees on consumers in island areas connected by land-connecting bridges. The FTC stated that it will complete the revision of the Enforcement Rules of the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce in the second half of the year after collecting feedback from stakeholders.
