Issued ruling in PIPC investigation of 11 businesses regarding violations of the Personal Information Protection Act
On 26 May 2023, the Personal Information Protection Commission (PIPC) fined 11 companies, including JT Communications, Qoo10, Integration Co, and T Map Mobility for violations of the Personal Information Protection Act. The collective fines and penalties amount to KRW 51.62 million. In particular, the fines were imposed after the PIPC determined that the companies had leaked personal information and failed to implement effective safety measures.
