Republic of Korea: Introduced Amendments to Fair Transactions in Large-scale Retail Business Act (Bill No. 2123298)

On 6 April 2023, Amendments to the Fair Transactions in Large-scale Retail Business Act, Bill No. 2123298, were introduced to the National Assembly of Korea. The Bill substitutes Bill No. 2118655 and Bill No. 2118352 by incorporating the proposed provisions. The Bill aims to include a permanent member in the Dispute Resolution Council to contribute to professional and efficient advice on the increasing number of dispute resolution cases. It also seeks to introduce a prohibition on improper business interventions by prohibiting prohibit large-scale distributors from unjustifiably interfering in the business activities of their business users.
