Issued ruling in Italian data protection authority enforcement case on revenge porn 9827471 (Facebook, TikTok)

On 10 November 2022, Italian Data Protection Authority (GPDP) issued a provision ratifying a measure which obliges Facebook Italy, Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, TikTok Technology Limited and TikTok Italy S.r.l. to implement actions to remove any revenge porn material from their platforms. It further requires the companies to store the material for evidentiary purposes.
