Issued ruling in Italian data protection authority enforcement case on revenge porn 9835027 (Google, YouTube)
On 9 February 2023, Italian Data Protection Authority (GPDP) issued a provision ratifying a measure which obliges Facebook Italy, Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, Google Italy S.r.l., Google LLC and Google Ireland to implement actions to remove any revenge porn material from their platforms. It further requires the companies to store the material for evidentiary purposes.
