Italy: Issued ruling in Italian data protection authority enforcement case on revenge porn 9892929 (Instagram)

On 13 April 2023, the Italian Garante issued its ruling concerning a case of non consensual distribution of explicit material ("revenge porn"). The Garante requires Facebook Italy and Meta Platforms Ireland Limited to implement actions to remove the material from their platforms and further requires the companies to store the material for evidentiary purposes.
