On 12 July 2023, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) formally filed an appeal before the Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit concerning the ruling issued by the District Court of the Northern District of California on 10 July 2023 authorising Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard and denying the FTC's preliminary injunction request.
