Introduced Bill 0811-D-2020, establishing the Ombudsman for Audiences of Audiovisual Communication Services and Users of Information and Communication Technologies

On 16 March 2020, Bill 0811-D-2020, establishing the Ombudsman for Audiences of Audiovisual Communication Services and Users of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), was introduced in the Chamber of Deputies of Argentina. The Ombudsman would be required to promote the right to communication, process queries and complaints, promote a national media literacy plan, and report annually to the Bicameral Commission. The Ombudsman would also have the power to issue recommendations to providers of audiovisual communication and ICT services and propose modifications to regulatory norms.
