Issued Federal Judicial Power determination on COFECE’s jurisdiction over the digital market
On 18 June 2021, the Mexican Federal Judicial Power determined that the Federal Economic Competition Commission (COFECE) is the competent authority with jurisdiction over markets for online search services, social networks and cloud computing services. The notable exception is the market for mobile operating systems, which is under the exclusive jurisdiction of the Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT).
