On 27 March 2023, the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) published the Cloud Security Market Analysis. The report highlights the challenge of assessing cloud cybersecurity services due to bundled offerings from the same providers, leading to difficulties distinguishing specific cybersecurity components. Inconsistencies were observed in the perception of threats between supply and demand, with misconfigurations being a significant concern for supply-side respondents. On the demand side, insecure application programming interfaces (APIs) pose a significant gap. The ENISA report finds that Secure mobile cloud computing, fog computing, edge computing, and secure cloud architectures are the most relevant research topics for supply and demand stakeholders, driven by the increasing demand for applications.
