Adopted removal order regarding YouTube advertisements

On 23 July 2022, the General Authority for Audiovisual Media (GAAM) and the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) issued a removal order to YouTube for showing advertisements that violate the audiovisual media system and its regulations by displaying content that is in direct contradiction with the Kingdom's Islamic and societal values and morals. To that effect, the media content controls are violated as well as the domestic YouTube policy. The GAAM and CITC will monitor YouTube's adherence to the order. Further legal action may be taken if inaction is observed.
