Implemented Amendment to Code of Administrative Offenses expanding non-criminal liability for discrediting content

On 18 March 2023, the Federal Law No. 57-FZ of March 18, 2023, on Amendments to Articles 13.15 and 20.3-3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation was implemented following its signing into law by the President of the Russian Federation on the same day. In particular, the Law clarifies the liability for actions aimed at discrediting the assistance provided by volunteer formations, individuals or organisations to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation to complete the assigned tasks for cases where the actions are not criminally punishable. The acts are punishable by a fine of RUB 30’000 to 50’000 for citizens and entities of RUB 300’000 to 500’000.
