Issued GAC Ruling Approving Proposed Acquisition of Careem by Uber with Conditions

On 10 February 2021, the General Authority for Competition (GAC) issued a ruling in its investigation of the proposed acquisition of Careem Inc. by Uber Inc. GAC did not find concerns for constraints of competition and approved the acquisition with certain conditions. Namely, both companies will continue to operate separately while owned by one entity.
