Adopted OECD Guidelines Governing the Protection of Privacy and Transborder Flows of Personal Data containing data protection measures

On 23 September 1980, the OECD Council adopted the "Recommendation concerning Guidelines Governing the Protection of Privacy and Transborder Flows of Personal Data". The guidelines set the following principles for managing personal data: collection limitation, data quality, purpose specification, use limitation, and security safeguards.
