Launched negotiations of UK-Singapore Digital Trade Agreement containing data protection measures

On 28 June 2021, the UK and Singapore initiated negotiations on a bilateral Digital Trade Agreement. Negotiations will focus on securing open digital markets for exporters, ensuring free and trusted cross-border data flows, cutting red tape for businesses, upholding consumer rights and protecting businesses’ valuable intellectual property, and deepening cooperation on future growth sectors like fintech and lawtech.
