On 15 June 2023, the EU Member States and, with the support of the Commission and the EU Agency For Cybersecurity, released a second progress report on the implementation of the EU Toolbox on 5g Cybersecurity. The report specifies that 24 Member States have already adopted or are preparing legislation to enable national authorities to assess suppliers and impose restrictions on suppliers classified as high-risk, and 10 have imposed restrictions on specific providers. The Commission recommended Member States that haven't implemented the Toolbox adopt such policies, noting the risks posed by suppliers such as Huawei and ZTE. The report also recommends that Member States enforce technical measures and ensure a strong level of supervision.
