Announced UK Geospatial Strategy 2030

On 15 June 2023, the UK Government announced the launch of its “Geospatial Strategy 2030” aiming to enhance location data and technologies across the UK by 2030 to ensure that the UK remains at the forefront of geospatial innovation globally and maximises the value of location data and services. The Strategy sets out three objectives or missions. Mission 1 outlines how the UK will embrace enabling technologies to accelerate geospatial innovation. Mission 2 outlines how the UK will drive greater use of geospatial applications and insights across the economy. Finally, Mission 3 sets out the UK’s objectives for building confidence in the future geospatial ecosystem. This Strategy replaces the previous UK Geospatial Strategy launched in 2018.
