China: Adopted Guiding Opinions on Encouraging and Regulating the Development of Internet Rental Bicycles

On 1 August 2017, the Guiding Opinions on Encouraging and Regulating the Development of Internet Rental Bicycles were adopted. The Guiding Opinions set out policies and requirements in relation to internet rental bicycle services. Among other requirements, internet rental bicycle companies must set up domestic servers and store information collected during operations in China. Guiding Opinions have no direct legal effect.
