Announced State Council Legislative Work Plan 2023

On 6 June 2023, China's State Council released its Legislative Work Plan for the year 2023. The Plan sets out the government's legislative agenda, including, notably, preparing a draft Artificial Intelligence Law for submission to the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress. The State Council further plans to submit a revised Anti-Money Laundering Law to the Standing Committee. Among the administrative regulations, the State Council plans to consider regulations on non-bank payment institutions, merger declaration requirements, commercial encryption, internet protection of minors, and network data security.
