Adopted UK-US Atlantic Declaration including cross-border data transfer regulation

On 8 June 2023, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and the President of the United States signed the Atlantic Declaration, an economic partnership agreement, including cross-border data transfer regulation. In particular, the parties announced the establishment of a US-UK Data Bridge to enable the transfer of data between the jurisdictions. Furthermore, the parties agreed to support the adoption of Global Cross-Border Privacy Rules, compliance with the OECD's Declaration on Government Access to Personal Data Held by Private Sector Entities, and increase collaboration to identify and address security risks.
