Adopted UK-US Atlantic Declaration including cooperation on artificial intelligence

On 8 June 2023, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and the President of the United States signed the Atlantic Declaration, an economic partnership agreement, including cooperation on artificial intelligence (AI) development. In particular, the parties stated that they will enhance collaboration on policies to support the safe and responsible development of AI and address risks that the rapid development of AI could pose. Furthermore, the parties emphasised their support for the international frameworks for addressing AI opportunities and risks, such as OECD, UN, Global Partnership for AI, G7 Hiroshima AI Process, Council of Europe and International Standards Organisations. Finally, the US noted its support for the Global Summit on AI Safety organised by the UK.
