Adopted US-Singapore Partnership for Growth and Innovation statement including cooperation on artificial intelligence

On 8 June 2023, the United States Department of Commerce and the Singapore Ministry of Trade and Industry convened for the second annual US-Singapore Partnership for Growth and Innovation (PGI) dialogue focused on the digital economy and smart cities. The parties issued a statement announcing their commitment to increase cooperation in establishing policies to ensure trustworthy and responsible artificial intelligence (AI) development. Furthermore, the parties stated that the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and Singapore's Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) will collaborate to ensure the interoperability of both countries' AI regulatory frameworks. The NIST and IMDA started mapping the similarities and differences between the US AI Risk Management and Singapore AI Verify to clarify the existing requirements and guidelines in both jurisdictions.
