On 1 March 2021, the Guideline to Develop Codes of Conduct under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) came into effect. The Guideline was developed by the Information Regulator to explain the process for the adoption of industry-specific codes of conduct under Section 65 of POPIA.
