Implemented Amendment of the End-User and Subscriber Service Charter Regulation

On 28 March 2023, the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) adopted amendments to the End-user and Subscriber Service Charter (“EUSSC”) Regulation (Gazette No 39898 of 2016). The purpose of the regulation is to establish minimum standards for electronic communications services provided to end-users, with the aim of ensuring the quality of service offered and safeguarding the rights of end-users in the electronic communications sector. The amendment introduces additional parameters and adjustments to existing ones for the quality of service in electronic communication services. The goal is to enable better monitoring and enforce compliance with customer care standards.
