Closed consultation on National Privacy Commission Guidelines on Consent

On 9 June 2023, the National Privacy Commission (NPC) closed the public consultation on the draft guidelines on consent. The guidelines apply to all personal information controllers (PICs) who process personal data based on consent. The guidelines provide information on the extent to which consent forms the basis of processing personal data. The guidelines outline transparency requirements regarding data processing information that should be provided to the data subject. Furthermore, the processing of data must be proportionate and fair. Regarding the granting of consent by the data subject, it must be freely given, specific and informed, and it can be revoked at any time.
