Announced Gecradi investigation into Google for the availability of Game "Slavery Simulator" on its Play Store

On 24 May 2023, the Special Group to Combat Racial Crimes and Intolerance (Gecradi) from the Public Ministry of Sao Paulo State opened an investigation into Google for the availability of Game "Slavery Simulator" on its Play Store. The Gecradi requested Google to provide details about the game Simulador de Escravidão (Slavery Simulator) availability period on its Play Store, information regarding its internal administrative procedure for approving applications that are displayed in the AppStore and the documents the Slavery Simulator developer submitted to Google to obtain approval. The application enabled the torture of black characters and was developed by Magnus Games and had, according to Gecradi, over a thousand downloads before it was removed from the Google Play Store. Google has been given a three-day deadline to share the requested information.
