United States of America: Opened consultation on Office of Science and Technology Policy National Priorities for Artificial Intelligence

On 23 May 2023, the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) opened a public consultation on the benefits and risks of artificial intelligence (AI) as part of the development of the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy until 7 July 2023. The OSTP invited stakeholders to submit information regarding standards and regulations that should be adopted to ensure the protection of individuals' rights and safety and the principle that should be followed in the development, deployment and use of AI systems. Furthermore, the OSTP aims to gather information on how AI could advance equity, improve civil rights protections, and increase civic participation. Finally, the consultation covers the use of AI to promote economic growth and improve public services.
