Opened Office of Competition and Consumer Protection investigation into Glovo over alleged employment of dark patterns

On 19 May 2023, the Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection opened an investigation into Glovo, an online platform intermediary, for the alleged employment of dark patterns, such as drip pricing, hidden fees and unclear labelling of its order confirmation button. In case of non-compliance with consumer protection regulations and fair trade practices, Glovo faces a fine of up to 10% of its turnover.
