On 9 June 2022, the Indian Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) adopted its "Guidelines for Prevention of Misleading Advertisements and Endorsements for Misleading Advertisements". The Guidelines define and regulate misleading advertisements, bait advertisements, free-claim advertisements and surrogate advertisements. Additionally, the Guidelines define limitations for advertisements targeted towards children and regulate influencer marketing and endorsements.
